Pär Fabian Lagerkvist (1891–1974) was a Swedish author who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1951. Lagerkvist, a ‘religious atheissst’ wrote poems, plays, novels, stories, and essays. One of the author's earliest works is Ångest a disillusioned collection of poems. English titles of some of his significant works are: Literary Art and Pictorial Art 1991, The Dwarf 1958, and Barrabas 1989.
