This portrait is a slightly modified version of Steel engraving of Walt Whitman - a daguerreotype by Gabriel Harrison, published in 1855 edition of Leaves of Grass. This work is in the public domain in the United States, and those countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 80 years or fewer.
